Effort and a few breaks can go a long way to winning a football game, and Mississippi State didn’t have either Saturday at Auburn.
The Bulldogs got an interception on Auburn’s first possession and set up shop nicely inside the Tigers’ 20, but a missed field goal got the day off to a bad offensive start and the Bulldogs never recovered in losing 38-14 to the Tigers.
The Bulldogs recovered only one of four Auburn fumbles and also had a bad day tackling, resulting in big plays for the Tigers.
