Not much goes right for Mississippi State in 24-point setback

Effort and a few breaks can go a long way to winning a football game, and Mississippi State didn’t have either Saturday at Auburn.

The Bulldogs got an interception on Auburn’s first possession and set up shop nicely inside the Tigers’ 20, but a missed field goal got the day off to a bad offensive start and the Bulldogs never recovered in losing 38-14 to the Tigers.

The Bulldogs recovered only one of four Auburn fumbles and also had a bad day tackling, resulting in big plays for the Tigers.

Here are four takeaways for Mississippi State from its loss.
