It is indeed the start of a new era in Starkville, as the Bulldogs showed up and showed out to begin the 2020-21 season.
Led by Rickea Jackson’s 19 points, the Bulldogs had their way with the Tigers. Jackson set a defensive tone from the get go, having opened the game with a block. Myah Taylor then found her for a 3-pointer. As Jackson’s long distance shooting was in question, she showed significant development, having shot 3-6 from beyond the arc.
Jessika Carter added fourteen points and five key blocks. Like Jackson, Carter showed a big sign of improvement.
