Birmingham, Ala. -- In its first match in nearly two weeks, the 25th-ranked Mississippi State women's tennis team (6-1) showed no rust in a 7-0 shutout of UAB (2-6) to start off the weekend Friday afternoon.
"We did a good job against a feisty UAB team today," head coach Daryl Greenan said. "It has been almost two weeks since our last match and this is the first one outdoors in over a month. I thought we handled the conditions well and picked up a solid win."
MSU started Friday's match with dominant performances at all three doubles positions.
