STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The No. 16 Bulldogs erased a 3-0 deficit to win the opening game of Friday's doubleheader against Alabama 4-3.
MSU scored once in the third inning, twice in the fourth inning and once in the fifth inning before turning things over to the bullpen.
Cole Gordon drew the start and worked three innings. Gordon allowed three hits and three runs (all earned), with four strikeouts and four walks.
Peyton Plumlee (5-1) was then dominant, while earning the win. Plumlee faced 12 batters over 3.1 innings of work, allowing two hits and no runs, with two strikeouts and no walks.
