COLUMBIA, S.C. – Mississippi State fought hard in its 84-74 Southeastern Conference men’s basketball loss at South Carolina Tuesday night.
Fresh off a victory over in-state rival Ole Miss, MSU played well offensively but could not overcome a massive deficit on the boards to achieve its first league road win of the season.
“I am really proud of the effort of the kids,” MSU head coach Ben Howland said. “There is no quit in this team. They keep competing and playing hard. We got destroyed on the glass in both halves. We had a chance there at the end when we got it back to a four-point deficit.
