The annual Maroon vs. White spring game scrimmage will take place this Saturday at 11:00 am on the grass of Scott Field in Davis Wade Stadium and be televised by ESPNU. That was a mouth full.
Attendance at spring games is always discussed, especially in the SEC, and is frequently just an estimate made by each athletic department. It’s free – except the 2012 MSU spring game which featured a concert by now defunct country group Sugarland – so there’s no reason not to step inside Davis Wade for a look-see.
Here are the spring game attendance for Mississippi State during the Dan Mullen era:
- 2009: 31,606
- 2010: 34,127
- 2011: 36,357
- 2012: 22,604
- 2013: 21,000
- 2014: 21,710
- 2015: 13,004
That was a pretty huge decline in 2015.
