MSU ranked 37th in Phil Steele’s preseason power poll

Phil Steele released his preseason power poll Thursday, where the Mississippi State checked in at number 37.

Steele states that he relies on nine different power ratings that look at different factors to determine his rankings. The power poll consists of numerous computer rankings.

According to Steele, teams such as Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and UCLA are top 20 teams, and all have better talent than the Bulldogs.

According to “human” facts, most of those teams lose just as many key players off their 2014 team as the Bulldogs do, and I would be willing to bet that MSU has just as much production returning -if not more- than each one of them.
