Mississippi State, as expected, was picked as one of eight national seeds when the NCAA Baseball Tournament bracket was announced on Monday. Now, the Bulldogs are turning their focus towards taking advantage of all that means.

MSU, the No. 6 national seed, will open up play in the Starkville Regional at Dudy Noble Field this Friday against Southern University. If all goes the way the Bulldogs plan, it’ll be the first game of a long postseason run that could include two rounds at home.

“It speaks to our body of work this year,” MSU centerfielder Jake Mangum said.
