MSU adds South Panola pledge

Mississipppi State added the 17th member of its 2016 class when South Panola three-star defensive end Drelan Porter pledged his services on Friday.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder is considered the No. 28 prospect in Mississippi and 46th best weakside defensive end nationally by 247Sports.com.

Porter picked the Bulldogs over offers from Memphis, Ole Miss and Southern Miss.

Through four games, Porter has made 26 tackles (20 solo, six assists), nine stops for loss, five sacks and a pass deflection.

Porter is the Bulldogs’ nine in-state commitment in a class ranked 30th in the country.
