On Monday, before Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead was even asked a question at his weekly press conference, he gave an opening statement that was far from a normal start to a media availability. After MSU’s loss to Tennessee on Saturday, the drumbeats of discontent with Moorhead and the condition of the MSU program have gotten louder and louder amongst Bulldog fans. Moorhead addressed his own personal struggles and the struggles of his team in his opening statement. Here is a transcript of Moorhead’s opening statement, slightly edited to provide more clarity in a couple spots.
