For the second time this summer, Mississippi State's Madison Harrison found her self the last person standing after a tournament as the transfer from Kansas snagged the Tuscaloosa Open singles title Monday.
Harrison entered the event as the No. 5 seed, and she wasted no time backing up that seeding in her first three matches of the tournament. After a first-round bye, Harrison knocked off Concordia's Johanna Keeline 6-0, 6-2. In the next round, Harrison moved past Georgetown's Liselot Koenen 6-1, 6-1.
Harrison continued the sharp play continued in the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Grace Summers of Eastern Illinois.
