Mississippi State’s defense shredded again in loss to Arkansas

Mississippi State fell 58-42 to Arkansas on Saturday to drop to 4-7 on the season. With only one game remaining, the Bulldogs will not have an opportunity to secure a sixth win to receive bowl eligibility.

Here are five takeaways from the Bulldogs’ home loss.

Nick Fitzgerald is going to be a good one.

Mississippi State put 42 points on the board, but it wasn’t enough. Most of that output, though, can be attributed to sophomore QB Nick Fitzgerald and that’s not a bad thing. He threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for another 131 yards and two scores.
