Mississippi State will have an all-new defensive staff

Staff changes during a college football offseason aren’t a big deal. Every year, head coaches and assistants move from job to job. What is not common, though, is entire staff turnover on one side of the ball when a head coach stays put.

That is what has happened to Dan Mullen at Mississippi State. With Tuesday’s news that defensive line coach David Turner has taken a job at Texas A&M, it means the Bulldogs will have an entirely new defensive staff in 2016.

The new coordinator and linebacker coach is Peter Sirmon; he replaces Manny Diaz, who went to Miami.
