Saturday’s spring game is an opportunity for every Mississippi State player, but Bulldogs fans should especially keep their eyes on these five.

Comment: Mississippi State has its starting quarterback in junior Nick Fitzgerald, but the backup position — and and the future of the program — likely is in the hands of Thompson (6 feet 4, 234 pounds), a four-star true freshman who enrolled in January. Thompson is the most decorated high school quarterback to ever set foot in Starkville, and Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen has had high praise for him this spring.
