The 2016 season for Mississippi State began the post-Dak Prescott era and was a rebuild of sorts for Dan Mullen. It has had more than its shares of highs and lows.
The Bulldogs lost three games — to South Alabama, BYU and Kentucky — on the game’s final drive, but Mississippi State also has big wins over Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
Despite a 5-7 record, a high APR score enabled the Bulldogs to get into a bowl, and they will play Miami (Ohio) on December 26 in the St. Petersburg Bowl.
Two big positives: The Bulldogs found their quarterback and feature back of the future.
