Vann Stuedeman and the Mississippi State softball team kicked off the February Freezer off this afternoon by defeating the University of North Florida Ospreys 7-5 today.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to some clever base running and a bad throw by North Florida. All three runs were unearned in the inning, but that was of little importance.
Mississippi State would score twice again in the 4th thanks to a Kat Moore single that brought Bevia Robinson and Emily Heimberger home to give State a 5-0 lead.
That lead would disappear in the 5th, however.
