- Men’s basketball lost to Southern University on Monday night, 76-72. It was Malik Newman’s debut, but not what most folks expected as the Bulldogs were upset early in the season. Newman only played 17 minutes with six points and missed several key free throws. State will play Miami (FL) in Puerto Rico on Thursday at 4:00.
