Mississippi State (12-4, 3-1 SEC) was able to overcome a shaky start to defeat the Texas A&M Aggies (9-7, 1-4 SEC) 67-59. The Bulldogs, at one time down by 10 points in this game, overcame the Aggie defense to eventually win by 8 points.
Four of Mississippi State’s starters reached double digits scoring today, with freshman forward Schnider Herard leading the way with 16 points. Lamar Peters wasn’t far behind though, scoring 14 points, going a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line.
Sophomores Quinndary Weatherspoon and Aric Holman were both instrumental in the win today, scoring 13 points and 11 points respectively.
