After beating Auburn on Saturday night, Mississippi State jumped back into the AP top 25 after a two week absence. The Bulldogs are now ranked #22 in the poll.
Texas A&M, who MSU will play next week, is ranked #15 in the poll. This sets up State’s second top 25 match-up already on the young season. They lost to LSU earlier in the year – the Tigers came in at #8 in this week’s poll.
There were seven SEC teams ranked in the top 25. Missouri dropped out while Mississippi State and Florida entered the poll.
#5 Ole Miss is the top ranked SEC team, although they fell two spots after a scare from lowly Vanderbilt.
