Mississippi State Football: What role will Austin Williams play in the Bulldogs’ receiving corps?

Related Topics: Austin Williams

A lengthy and robust receiver, Williams is a pure route runner with deceptive speed.

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Williams can sky for any ball. As he will shine in Leach’s system, an air-raid offense, Williams should be used as a deep threat and in the slot. Williams’ route-running ability provides Leach with a multifaceted weapon. The Bulldogs have a formidable trio in the works with Williams and fellow wideouts JaVonta Payton and Osirus Mitchell, who will benefit from quarterback K.J. Costello’s experience and rocket arm.

Williams accumulated 256 yards and five touchdowns in 26 games thus far in his Bulldog career.
