Mississippi State Football: best and worst cast scenarios going forward

If you’re a Mississippi State fan (which I’m sure you are) then you’ve run the gammon of emotions over the past 48 hours. You’re somewhere between “fire Mullen” or “optimistic we’ll turn it around and make a bowl”.

Last week, most MSU fans were expecting a 7-5 or 8-4 season. Now about the best you can hope to find when surveying the fan base is 6-6, while many are just hoping we don’t go 2-10.

There are two extremes to look at, and this team will ultimately lean towards one or the other.

1. This was just a classic Mullen let down game in the same vein as barely beating UAB in 2010, an overtime win over Louisiana Tech in 2011, escaping Troy in 2012 and surviving Bowling Green in 2013.
