After a wonderful pitching performance from Konnor Pilkington in game 1 that saw them defeat Georgia 9-3, much could not be said about game 2 in a 4-1 loss.
Mississippi State only gave up four hits on the day, but all four hits were timely for the Georgia Bulldogs. Denver McQuarry got the start and looked good the first couple of innings before he started to struggle to find the strike zone.
In the bottom of the 3rd, after walking 2 batters, Georgia’s Mitchell Webb hit a double to drive in a run followed by a 2 RBI single from McGovern.
