The Mississippi State baseball team is looking to continue their hot play against the Auburn Tigers this weekend.
MSU’s 9th Southeastern Conference series comes this weekend against the Auburn Tigers. On paper Mississippi State is clearly the better team and should be favored to win the series. This one has somewhat of a personal twist because Auburn’s head coach, Butch Thompson, was State’s pitching coach form 2009-2015.
Auburn is coming into the weekend 22-27 overall and 8-16 in conference play, firmly in a battle for last place in the SEC west. Although it has been a lackluster season for the TIgers, they are a sneaky good hitting team.
