Mississippi State shocked many around the college baseball world with their surprisingly good season. Despite losing key players to both the draft and to injuries, the Bulldogs battled and put themselves in position for a SEC crown in the last week of the regular season. That, of course, didn’t come to be; however, State still won two in Hoover and won four games in two days to win the Hattiesburg regional.
The Bulldogs then went to Baton Rouge for a second straight Super Regionals apperance. Sure, the Dawgs ran out of gas, but it was impressive for the Diamond Dawgs to be in that position to begin with.
