Late Bulldog rally comes up short

BATON ROUGE, La., – Mississippi State’s fourth quarter rally fell short Saturday night at LSU.

Trailing 23-3 at halftime, the Bulldogs shutout LSU in the second half and scored two touchdowns in a 42-second span in the fourth quarter but were unable to complete the comeback in a 23-20 loss.

Damian Williams relieved Nick Fitzgerald in the final quarter to lead both MSU touchdown drives.

The Bulldogs took advantage of a fumble and scored on a 1-yard run by Williams. Dez Harris recovered the onside kick and two plays later Mississippi State found paydirt again when Williams found Fred Ross from 7-yards out.
