John Cohen will now have two coaching vacancies to fill on his staff at Mississippi State.

Assistant coach Nick Mingione left Monday to become the head coach at Kentucky and pitching coach Wes Johnson departed Wednesday to take the same position at Arkansas.

Johnson leaves the Bulldogs after one season having been hired in October to replace Butch Thompson. The Razorbacks are expected to officially announce the Sherwood, Arkansas native’s hire on Thursday.

Johnson guided MSU’s pitching staff to a 3.35 earned run average with 576 strikeouts and 208 walks over 567 innings in 2016.
