It’s New Year’s Eve of 2009. I want you to take yourself back to the final moments of last decade.
Mississippi State baseball was on a skid of two-straight losing seasons. MSU football looked promising under Dan Mullen, but the Bulldogs were 5-7 in 2009 and had missed out on a bowl game for the eighth time in nine years. Men’s basketball was completing the first half of the first season of what would become a 10-year NCAA Tournament drought. Women’s hoops was on the path to a Sweet 16 appearance, but as special as that year was, at the time, it was an outlier.
