Hudson named national player of the week

In addition to being selected the SEC Pitcher of the Week, Mississippi State’s Dakota Hudson was also named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week following his stellar start against Vanderbilt last Friday.

Hudson fired nine innings without allowing an earned run with eight strikeouts while scattering four hits and two walks. The Commodores hit just .129 against him on the night.

The junior right-hander from Dunlap, Tennessee is the ninth Bulldog to be named national player of the week and second this season joining designated hitter Jack Kruger. MSU is the only team to have both a pitcher and hitter picked for the honor this spring.
