Hudson dominant in first fall outing

Junior right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson turned in three innings of one-run ball Friday, leading Maroon to a narrow 4-3 victory against Gray in Mississippi State’s second intrasquad scrimmage of the fall. The six-inning exhibition took place at Dudy Noble Field.

In front of 15 Major League Baseball scouts, Hudson, fanned three batters and gave up zero walks, touching 96 mph on the radar gun. Earlier in the day Friday, Perfect Game named the Dunlap, Tenn., native the eighth-best pro prospect from this past summer’s Cape Cod Baseball League.

Opposing Hudson in a starting role for Gray was southpaw Daniel Brown, who struck out four in three innings of one-run ball.
