Quarterback play in the SEC looks to be trending up for 2017, and former Alabama quarterback-turned-ESPN analyst Greg McElroy seems to be particularly enamored with one league signal-caller.
McElroy appeared Wednesday morning on “The Cube Show” on WUMP-AM in Huntsville, Ala., and was asked which SEC quarterback he would choose to lead his program.
“I’m taking Nick Fitzgerald at Mississippi State,” McElroy said on the show. “It’s just because right now in today’s day and age of college football, it’s just easier to craft an offense around a guy who can run and throw it.
