Redmond was a four-star recruit otu of Memphis in the 2012 recruiting class and signed with Mississippi State. But he was ruled ineligible by the NCAA for receiving illegal benefits and missed all of the 2012 season and the first five games in 2013.
He was a key reserve once he did hit the field and had a strong campaign as a junior in 2014, when he saw a lot of time as the nickel back. He worked his way into a starting role as a senior in 2015, then suffered a torn ACL in Game 8 and missed the rest of the season.
