Giving John Hevesy the Credit He Deserves

Each of the last six seasons, the Mississippi State Bulldogs have opened pre-season camp with question marks along the offensive line. In year seven of the Dan Mullen campaign, this still hasn’t changed according to many.

I stopped questioning John Hevesy’s ability to develop offensive linemen after the 2011 season when Blaine Clausell, a redshirt freshman, was an extremely raw product and a consensus two star recruit coming out of high school, became the starter at left tackle for a line that gave up the fifth fewest sacks in the SEC.

The 2014 season was another great example of how the process and the program have helped the Bulldogs flourish under Hevesy.
