A breakthrough rookie campaign in Dallas meant an extra reward for former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott: Some of the top bonus money in the NFL and a near-doubled salary.
The Cowboys’ quarterback received the second-highest performance-based bonus in the league this year, part of a set of statistics released Thursday by the NFL:
In all, Prescott took home more than $350,000 in extra bonuses for his work, leading the Cowboys to an NFC East division title after taking over for the injured Tony Romo.
That’s a big reward for the fourth-round draft pick, whose rookie deal is believed to pay him $450,000 in base salary.
