College football recruiting certainly is not an exact science. While rankings tell part of the story of a recruit, they don’t tell it all. There are numerous players who fall way short of expectations, and numerous players who exceed their expectations.
Here’s a look at four Mississippi State players; two have missed the mark and the other two have exceeded it.
PERFORMED BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
K Westin Graves: Unrated in 2014 signing class. Graves came to Mississippi State an unknown commodity, but outperformed scholarship kickers to handle the kicking duties in 2015. Graves was 15-of-18 on field-goal attempts and 52-of-54 on extra points.
