Fitzgerald finds redemption in MSU win

STARKVILLE – Last week, Nick Fitzgerald started for Mississippi State but failed to complete a pass or move the chains and was pulled after the second series.

The sophomore was able to redeem himself accounting for 373 yards including a school-record 195 yards by a quarterback on the ground in the Bulldogs’ 27-14 win over South Carolina Saturday night.

MSU (1-1, 1-0 SEC) and Fitzgerald did most of their damage in the first half building a 24-0 lead. Fitzgerald fired two touchdown passes to Fred Ross and Jordan Thomas from 6 and 3-yards respectively.
