Mississippi State announced Friday that Neil Price is the new “Voice of the Bulldogs,” beginning with the 2017-18 athletic season.
He will assume the play-by-play role previously held by Jim Ellis, who retired from calling football and men’s basketball games in March.
Price, a Middle Tennessee State alum, had spent the past 12 years at Kentucky. During that time, Price served as the play-by-play broadcaster for women’s basketball and baseball. He also worked as the host of the UK football pregame show and as host for the basketball and baseball coaches’ shows.
“I’m committed to using the skills and talents I’ve been given to produce a product the Mississippi State family will be proud of and one that will honor the high broadcasting standards set by legends Jack Cristil and Jim Ellis,” Price said in a statement released by MSU.
