Elliot honing sidearm skill at MSU

Logan Elliot switched his delivery to a sidearm style during his senior year of high school.

Naturally with such a specialized skill, Elliot had trouble finding a pitching coach that could help him at his craft.

The right-hander spent a season at Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College where he went 7-1 with five saves and a 2.19 earned run average. Although he had another year of eligibility at the juco level, both Mississippi State and Florida State came calling for his services.

Elliot did his research and discovered that Bulldogs pitching coach Butch Thompson has had success developing sidearm hurlers throughout his career.
