Mississippi State has gone through a lot of setbacks in 2016, but winning the Egg Bowl leaves the right taste for Dan Mullen over the offseason.
That’s how Mullen classified the victory in his postgame press conference after defeating the Rebels, 55-20, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford Saturday night.
“Every time you win it, it is awesome, and every time you lose it, it is awful because it sticks with you,” Mullen said.
The game remained close into the third quarter until the Bulldogs offense led by quarterback Nick Fitzgerald erupted to bury Ole Miss and score their most points in the rivalry since 1915.
