Mississippi State lost the Battle for the Golden Egg on Saturday night, 38-27. That makes back-to-back losses in the series and three of four. Ole Miss won in Starkville for the first time since 2003.
The score wasn’t really that close as Ole Miss got out to a 21-0 lead after a pick six and never really looked back. There was some hope early in the 3rd quarter when the Rebs missed a couple of field goals and MSU cut the lead to 28-13, but it was short-lived. Ultimately OM stretched the lead back out to 38-13 before State tacked on a couple of 4th quarter touchdowns.
