Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has added Brad Peterson, a well-respected Mississippi high school coach, to his staff.
Peterson’s title and work assignments are not yet known.
Peterson had been coach at Madison (Miss.) Madison Central, where he rejuvenated the program. Peterson spent five seasons before his arrival in Madison at Brandon (Miss.) High, going 50-18 in five years, including three consecutive 10-win seasons.
Peterson’s hiring should help with in-state recruiting; Mississippi State struggled in that regard in the most recent recruiting cycle.
Mullen already has added Peter Sirmon as his defensive coordinator, Terrell Buckley as cornerback coach and Maurice Linguist as safeties coach.
