Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen was asked Thursday about whether there was an update on the status of Jeffery Simmons, the Bulldogs’ signee who was arrested after he was caught on video hitting a woman.
“Nope,” Mullen said on the SEC West coaches’ teleconference.
Mullen said in late March that he was evaluating the situation; he was asked Thursday how his evaluation was going.
“Good,” Mullen said.
And that was the extent of his comments about Simmons, who was considered the state of Mississippi’s top recruit and was the Bulldogs’ lone five-star signee.
