Cleveland comfortable in first start

Mississippi State’s Tolando Cleveland made his first career start last weekend against Southern Miss.

Although it was a bit of a milestone, the junior cornerback felt comfortable in that role due to the wealth of experience he received during the previous two seasons.

“My main focus was to just handle my job,” Cleveland said. “It wasn’t as big of a deal because I’d gotten to play a lot last year and had some experience. I just wanted to handle my job, take care of business and get the win.”

Cleveland tied for second on the team with seven tackles in the season opener filling in for injured starter Taveze Calhoun.
