Court documents show that city of Starkville has declined to prosecute Mississippi State football player Nick James.

The senior defensive tackle was pulled over Sunday at 1:02 a.m. by officer Drew Jones at the intersection of Maxwell Street and Cotton Row due to loud music blaring from his white 2001 GMC Sierra. James was arrested for driving under the influence and disturbing the peace.

Both charges were dropped on Thursday after the order was signed by Starkville police chief Frank Nichols, prosecutor Caroline Moore and approved by judge Rodney Faver.
