Mississippi State’s Taveze Calhoun has had a good week.
On Saturday, the senior cornerback made two interceptions against Kentucky and on Thursday he was selected as a National Scholar-Athlete and a finalist for the Campbell Trophy.
The Campbell Trophy is awarded annually to the top scholar-athlete in the country. Calhoun is one of only a dozen finalists nationally and the only one in the Southeastern Conference.
Calhoun graduated last may with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and a 3.51 grade point average. He is working on his master’s degree in workforce leadership and will receive an $18,000 post graduate scholarship from the National Football Foundation.
