BYU RB Jamaal Williams could set record against Mississippi State

Another challenge for Mississippi State’s embattled defense: trying to avoid the wrong side of an all-time record at BYU on Friday night.

BYU senior running back Jamaal Williams is within reach of the school’s career rushing record, a milestone the Mississippi State defense will try to delay when the Bulldogs and Cougars meet at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah.

Williams has a strong chance to set the BYU all-time record against the Bulldogs. Currently, he's the second-leading rusher in the nation (866 yards in six games) and needs only 64 yards to surpass Harvey Unga's school-record 3,455 yards set in four seasons from 2006-09.
