Bulldogs will not Plays UMass in 2016 When Red Sox are Home

A few weeks ago, Mississippi State announced a three game deal to play the University of Massachusetts in football. The deal calls for MSU to travel to Foxborough, MA on September 24, 2016 to play the Minutemen in Gillette Stadium, home of the NFL’s New England Patriots. UMass is slated to visit Starkville in 2017 and 2020.

Some media outlets were critical of the 2 for 1 deal, but it was largely the result of MSU needing to fill a spot in its 2016 schedule after Tulane opted to buy out of its contract to play the Bulldogs.
