Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen stated after the Egg Bowl that his staff would immediately hit the road recruiting.
That effort is already reaping rewards as Greenwood three-star defensive end Marquiss Spencer committed to the Bulldogs on Monday.
The 6-foot-5, 228-pounder chose MSU over an offer from Southern Miss and is ranked the No. 25 weakside defensive end in the country and 11th-best prospect in Mississippi by 247Sports.com.
As a senior, Spencer made 134 tackles, 21 for loss, 20 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, a blocked field goal and a 38-yard interception returned for a touchdown.
