There was a time not long ago when bowl eligibility was a rarity with the Mississippi State football program. Not anymore. It’s the norm.
For the sixth consecutive season, the Bulldogs punched their ticket to the postseason on Saturday night as MSU put away Kentucky 42-16 at Davis Wade Stadium.
“When I got here, I had people patting me on the back saying if we could get to a bowl game every once in a while, that’d be fantastic,” Mullen said. “But (director of athletics Scott Stricklin) and (MSU president Mark Keenum), they kind of expect that now and our fans expect that too.
