Well the Ben Howland era has not gotten off to the best of starts. And the Malik Newman era is off to an even worse one. After losing to Texas Tech, 74-72, on Friday afternoon, Mississippi State drops to 1-3 on the young season. And they are 0-3 with Malik Newman playing.
Newman isn’t to blame for the Bulldogs’ struggles – he got his first start of the year vs. the Red Raiders and lead the team with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Somehow Gavin Ware managed only one rebound in the game and the Dawgs still managed to out-rebound Texas Tech by four.
