Tight end Malcolm Johnson was the second Mississippi State player off the NFL Draft board on Saturday after being selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 19th pick of the sixth round (195th overall).
The 6-foot-2, 231-pounder from Tuscaloosa, Ala., is the first Bulldog tight end taken since Donald Lee in 2003 and the first Browns draftee since Larry Friday in 1981. Johnson is the highest State player ever drafted by the franchise.
Johnson was a second team All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC selection for MSU. He appeared in 45 games during his career and earned 23 starts.
